McAllen, Texas, May 4, 2009 - Last Thursday, The U.S. Small Business Administration's Lower Rio Grande Valley District Office honored Rio Bank President and CEO, Ford Sasser as the 2009 District Financial Services Champion of the Year. The award is presented to the financial services individual who has provided the greatest contribution to the success of small businesses within the 14 county SBA District.
During the event, Michael Wilk, Acting SBA District Director said, "The SBA would like to recognize your hard work, innovative ideas and dedication to your community that have made you a success in your business." Jones went on to commend Sasser by saying, "You should be proud of the role you are playing in our Nation's economic growth."
In responding to the Award, Sasser said, "I am very honored to receive this award, but I must add that it is a true reflection of the entire Rio Bank team and their unending commitment to their customers and community."
Sasser received the Financial Services Champion of the Year Award at an event hosted by the SBA on Thursday evening at the University of Texas Pan American in Edinburg.
