
This August 16th and 17th, the McAllen Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Mexico Consulate at McAllen Texas, UTPA Small Business Development Center and MEDC, will host a Business Seminar for Mexican Investors.
This seminar is the first phase of a Business Matchmaking Process between businesses from Tamaulipas and McAllen.
The event will be hosted at the McAllen Chamber of Commerce. It has a planned attendance of 100 Mexican business owners and investors representing a broad range of products and services from Tamaulipas. The event will offer a series of seminars with valuable information for the Mexican visitors.
“This is the first step of the matchmaking process. Our objective during the First Phase is to provide our visitors with information in multiple subjects.
Among those are: Import and Export requirements, Customs, Immigration, How to start a business in Texas, etc.,” said Luis Cantu, VP for Inter American Relations, “We want to provide the attendees with tools to get them ready to export from Mexico to USA successfully. In the near future, we will conduct the second phase of the process.
By then, most of this people will be ready to place their products in Texas. At that time, our task will be to give them the opportunity to meet with potential customers from the area and hopefully make good business relations”.
The seminar will have presentations by the McAllen Chamber of Commerce, the Business Development Center, UTPA SBDC, IBC Bank & Philip Garcia US Custom Broker Agency.
“Historically we’ve always have strong commercial links with Mexico”, indicated Luis Cantu, “at the McAllen Chamber of Commerce we are very excited about the potential new investments coming to our City, since they can bring growth, new employment positions and business opportunities”, Cantu concluded.
