AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Ernest Aliseda of McAllen to the Texas Military Preparedness Commission for a term to expire Feb. 1, 2015.
The commission advises the governor and legislature on defense-related issues, prepares an annual report for state leaders and helps base commanders prepare for the next round of base realignment evaluations.
Aliseda is managing attorney of Loya Insurance Group, a municipal judge for the City of McAllen, and a major in the U.S. Army Reserves. He is a former state district judge of the 139th and 398th State District courts in Hidalgo County.
He is also past president of the Hidalgo County Bar Association, and past director of the State Bar of Texas. Aliseda received a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and a law degree from the University of Houston Law Center.
