McAllen --- The winner of TheGoodPitch Competition, Ruben Cepeda, selected Boys & Girls Club of McAllen as the Non-profit to receive all the registration fees of the participants of the public speaking competition.  The Competition is an initiative sponsored by the McAllen Chamber of Commerce to nurture good public speaking skills in the entrepreneurial and business community in McAllen. The competition is intended to simulate the real-world process of promoting, selling or soliciting buy-into an idea, product, service or request. An “elevator pitch” is a 2 minute speech of an organization, idea, product or service that is compelling to the target audience. The name "elevator pitch" reflects the idea that a person delivering the pitch should be able to convince the listener in the time span of an elevator ride. A good elevator speech should have a good structure and organization, be original, use good body language and voice and targeted correctly to the audience.

Ruben Cepeda won $500 in cash for his presentation on “Think Louder” and also selected the Non-profit to donate the registration fees of all participants. The second place, Henoc Macias, presented “Set up an Appointment” and won $100. The third place, Norma Diaz, won $50 with the presentation “Introduce PromoGirl.”  The Competition is a great occasion to polish and/or prepare your speech to a potentially business opportunity.
