By 1982 La Mafia exploded into the music scene winning most promising band of the year at that years Tejano Music Awards in San Antonio. By 1991, with the release of "Estas Tocando Fuego", the first ever "Million Selling Album" by a tejano artist, La Mafia catapulted to international status making  hip new hybrid of Tejano, pop and Mexican infused style of cumbia a staple on radio, on both sides of the border as well as throughout all of
Latin America. La Mafia is a 1997 & 1998 Grammy winner and 2005 & 2006 Latin Grammy winner. ~ Bio courtesy of La Mafia.
