Edinburg --- A fashion show, coordinated by the Missy’s Modeling Studio and the Edinburg Economic Development Corporation, was one of the free services provided to more than 1,000 area residents who participated in the Edinburg Job and Resource Fair on Thursday, June 21. Area models, wearing clothes loaned by The Dress Barn, Dillard's at La Plaza Mall, and Bealls, showcased proper business attire recommended for job interviews and in business situations. “Edinburg residents have the skills, experiences, and education to get the job done, but in this very competitive world, making a good impression goes a long ways in getting the job in the first place,” said Letty Reyes, Project Manager for the EEDC. “The fashion show was one of the many ways the EEDC provides our citizens with the knowledge to succeed in the world of business.” Plans are already underway by the EEDC for another jobs fair later this fall. The EEDC is the jobs-creation arm of the Edinburg City Council. TBB
