73rd Texas International Fishing Tournament Wrap Up & Results

Michael McLelland, Harlingen, was declared TIFT Grand Champion Bay Fisherman. Awarded to the anglers with the highest point totals of all three eligible species (trout, redfish and flounder) for two days of fishing, McLelland with "Team Segulja" weighed in a total of 30#.            South Padre Island --- The 73rd TIFT is in the bag and though it was a bit windy during the two days of fishing a good number of fish came to the dock and even more caught and released. Total registration, 1165 anglers. Total boats, 371. Total billfish caught, 116 with 9 weighed in and 107 released. Six (6) blue marlin were caught, all released. Sixty-two (62) white marlin caught, 2 weighed in and 60 released.
