The Office of Dual Enrollment expects around 180 dual adjunct faculty members to attend this event in preparation for the upcoming academic year.
The Conference keynote speaker, Dr. Daniel King, Superintendent of Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Independent School District, will give his address, “I Have Seen the Future,” during the lunch hour.
King has been nationally recognized for his work in dual enrollment and Early College High Schools. King and PSJA were featured nationally in a two-part PBS News Hour Special Report presenting the district’s approach as a promising model for the future of secondary education.
The lunch address and the luncheon will take place in the Science and Engineering Technology Lecture Hall, beginning at 11:30 a.m. Dr. Garcia will welcome the luncheon guests and introduce the speaker.
Throughout the day, professional development sessions with guest presenters will include: “Writing to Learn,” “Student Engagement,” “Project-Based Learning,” “Critical Thinking,” “Blackboard Training” and “ABC’s of Dual Enrollment.”
