McAllen, TX (June 23, 2015) – There is still time this summer to get ahead on college courses by registering for the Summer II semester at South Texas College. Current and new students, including high school seniors, are encouraged to make the most of their summer by registering now for traditional and online classes that start on July 8.

Cost efficient courses at South Texas College are smart options for any student who wants to start or continue their higher education. Students are encouraged to meet with college advisors to help set educational goals and to discuss items such as transferring credits to four-year universities.

“Our summer courses are popular options for a variety of reasons,” said STC Dean of Enrollment Services and Registrar Matthew Hebbard. “Our smaller classroom sizes offer students more personalized attention that they don’t receive at larger institutions. In addition, our online and hybrid classes, that combine face-to-face classroom instruction with online learning, give students more flexibility with their schedules.”

Summer sessions range from 4 to 8 weeks, giving students plenty of time to not only get ahead with their coursework, but also have time to enjoy their summer vacation. Whether students are planning to attend college in the Rio Grande Valley or at another institution in the fall, South Texas College is ready to help prepare them for success.

“Our staff is available to help students go through the process of registering for classes,” said Hebbard. “Financial aid options including installment plans and emergency loans are still available. Students and their families are welcome to visit the Pecan, Mid-Valley and Starr County Campus Student Services Buildings for any help they need with the registration process.”

The Summer II Final Payment Deadline is June 30 with classes starting on July 8. Registration is also available 24/7 online via JagNet.  For more information, please call South Texas College Admissions at 956-872-8323 or visit southtexascolleg.edu/register.
